Description of Course:
PEARS- Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization Classroom Video-based Instructor-Led course. This course helps healthcare providers develop the knowledge and skills needed for emergency evaluation and treatment of seriously ill or injured children and infants. The goal is to improve the quality of care provided, resulting in improved outcomes.
We provide CPR Training Services for:
Healthcare Professionals – PEARS Training is intended for any Healthcare provider and others who might encounter pediatric emergency situations in the course of their work including: physicians and nurses NOT specializing in pediatrics, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, outpatient clinic staff, and school-based providers.
PEARS Training is NOT intended for those staff members who routinely provide pediatric care and are required to have PALS Certification.
Course Content:
Course Length: 7 Hours PEARS Provider (Initial) Classroom Video-based Instructor-Led
Students MUST pass a Written Exam (84%) and Skills Testing in order to qualify for a Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) Course Completion eCard by the American Heart Association. New 2015 Guidelines by the American Heart Association, students may use the Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization Student Manual while taking the Written Examination.
Upon successful completion of the course with the American Heart Association 2015 Guidelines, the student will receive an American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) Course Completion eCard. PEARS Course Completion eCard is valid for 2 years expiration date on eCard.
BOOK:
PEARS Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization Providers Student Manual or eBook is required for class. Each Student MUST have own copy of PEARS Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization Student Manual or eBook for class. Each Student MUST bring in a current American Heart Association Book or eBook to class. If not current, each student MUST purchase a Student Book and CPR Heart of Angels must enforce policy. No sharing of Student Book or eBook allowed. Each Student MUST have a current Student Book.

All participants MUST take the PEARS Pre-Course Self-Assessment Online with American Heart Association before taking the PEARS Course. Please bring a copy of your PEARS Pre-Course Self-Assessment Examination with you on the date of your PEARS Course. Student MUST pass the PEARS Pre-Course Self-Assessment with a score of 70% or higher. There is not a limit on how many times you can take the Pre-Course Self-Assessment Examination. Once you have enrolled and paid for the PEARS Providers (Initial) Course and purchased PEARS Student Manual, CPR Heart of Angels will email you with an access code that allows the student to access the American Heart Association website to complete the PEARS Pre-Course Self-Assessment Examination.
BLS for Providers Current Course Card/eCard MUST be valid not expired. Please bring a copy of your BLS for Providers Course Card/eCard on the day of your course for CPR Heart of Angels. Please bring original BLS for Providers Course Card/eCard. If your BLS for Providers Course Card/eCard is expired, you will need to take the HeartCode BLS Blended Learning Online Part 1 with American Heart Association and on the same day of your PEARS Course complete HeartCode BLS Hands-On Skills Practice and Skills Testing. Once successfully completing BLS for Providers, Course eCard will be issued.
BLS for Providers Course eCard – HeartCode BLS Blended Learning Online:
You must have Current BLS for Providers prior to taking the PEARS Providers (Initial) Course. You can take HeartCode BLS Blended Learning Online Course which covers the cognitive portion of the course Part 1. This convenient Internet-based program will allow students to train at their own pace, anytime, and anywhere there is internet access. You can take HeartCode BLS Hands-On Skills Practice and Skills Testing on the same day as the PEARS Course.
