Description of Course:
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Initial Classroom Video-based Instructor-Led course strives to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. This course covers a series of video and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systemic approach to pediatric assessment, Basic Life Support (BLS), PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The recognition and intervention of respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest.
We provide CPR Training Services for:
Healthcare Professionals such as physicians, medical students, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, paramedics, EMT’s, First Responder firefighters, police officers, and other allied health personnel including personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Critical Care Units (CCUs).
Course Content:
Course Length: 14-16 Hours PALS Providers (Initial) Classroom Video-based Instructor-Led Course
PALS Providers (Initial) Course is a two day Traditional Classroom Instructor-Led Course that includes all required lessons and skills practice set forth by the American Heart Association for a First Timer or a Healthcare Provider that needs a little extra practice.
Students MUST pass a Written Exam (84%) and Skills Testing in order to qualify for a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course Completion eCard by the American Heart Association. New 2015 Guidelines by the American Heart Association, students may use the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Student Manual while taking the Written Examination.
Upon successful completion of the course with the American Heart Association 2015 Guidelines, the student will receive an American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course Completion eCard. PALS Course Completion eCard is valid for 2 years expiration date on eCard.
BOOK:
PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support Providers Student Manual or eBook is required for class. Each Student MUST have own copy of PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support Student Manual or eBook for class. Each Student MUST bring in a current American Heart Association Book or eBook to class. If not current, each student MUST purchase a Student Book and CPR Heart of Angels must enforce policy. No sharing of Student Book or eBook allowed. Each Student MUST have a current Student Book.

All participants MUST take the PALS Pre-Course Self-Assessment Online with American Heart Association before taking the PALS Course. Please bring a copy of your PALS Pre-Course Self-Assessment Examination with you on the date of your PALS Course. Student MUST pass the PALS Pre-Course Self-Assessment with a score of 70% or higher. There is not a limit on how many times you can take the Pre-Course Self-Assessment Examination. Once you have enrolled and paid for the PALS Providers (Initial or Renewal) Course and purchased PALS Student Manual, CPR Heart of Angels will email you with an access code that allows the student to access the American Heart Association website to complete the PALS Pre-Course Self-Assessment Examination.
BLS for Providers Current Course Card/eCard MUST be valid not expired. Please bring a copy of your BLS for Providers Course Card/eCard on the day of your course for CPR Heart of Angels. Please bring original BLS for Providers Course Card/eCard. If your BLS for Providers Course Card/eCard is expired, you will need to take the HeartCode BLS Blended Learning Online Part 1 with American Heart Association and on the same day of your PALS Course complete HeartCode BLS Hands-On Skills Practice and Skills Testing. Once successfully completing BLS for Providers, Course eCard will be issued.
BLS for Providers Course eCard – HeartCode BLS Blended Learning Online:
You must have Current BLS for Providers prior to taking the PALS Providers (Initial) or PALS Update (Renewal) Course. You can take HeartCode BLS Blended Learning Online Course which covers the cognitive portion of the course Part 1. This convenient Internet-based program will allow students to train at their own pace, anytime, and anywhere there is internet access. You can take HeartCode BLS Hands-On Skills Practice and Skills Testing on the same day as the PALS Course.
